Most newlyweds would be on their honeymoon by now, but not Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Days after the couple's history-making royal wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended their first official engagement as a married couple, arriving at the grounds of Buckingham Palace for the Prince of Wales' 70th birthday celebration.

The event also gave us a glimpse of what we can expect from the Duchess's royal wardrobe and, by the looks of things, she's already taking tips from her new sister-in-law.

Stepping out in a dusty pink dress and matching Philip Treacy hat, Meghan gave several hints that she has been taking inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge.

For starters, her feminine below-the-knee dress was by one of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite brands, Goat, which is a brand which Meghan has never previously worn.

The new royal opted for the brand's 'Flavia Dress', which is described on its website as "beautifully fluid and feminine", boasting contrast silk-chiffon décolletage and sleeves.

Surprisingly, the affordable £590 number is currently in stock, in all sizes from 8-18, although, given the power of 'The Meghan Effect' at the moment, we're sure it won't be for long.

Meghan also accessorised her garden party frock with a matching pale pink clutch bag, which also gave a hint that she has been taking note from Kate.

Firstly, Meghan upheld royal etiquette by using a clutch instead of the trusty cross-body, or shoulder bag, style she normally favours. Secondly, she proved her knack for recycling items as Meghan first debuted the £205 bag by British brand Wilbur and Gussie at the Memorial Service of Stephen Lawrence.

Plus, her choice of bag wasn't the only royal style rule Meghan adhered too, she also sported a pair of fine nude tights, which the Queen requires her family members to wear for all royal events.

She finished the look with a pair of nude heels, creating an impeccable tonal look, which very much proves she's been to princess style school.
