In what must have been odd news for Princess Catherine to receive on her 38th birthday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they plan to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.

The couple are wishing us Harryverderci as they aim to go "financially independent", splitting their time between the UK and North America.

We don’t know what the future holds for the couple just yet, but we can be fairly sure of the places they might be visiting while they’re back spending time in London.

Meghan has had her favourite spots in London to hang out ever since the couple first met in 2016. While they might be cutting back on the lavish lunches and nights out soon in a bid for financial self-sustainability, you should still check these spots for yourself.

Chiltern Firehouse

Uber posh, uber expensive and uber fabulous. For years, celebrity haunt Chiltern Firehouse has been near the top of every foodies bucket list. A fan of Negronis and Tignanello vino, Meghan has been spotted many a time swishing back some the fine gaff's cocktails and mixers. Aside from all the booze, expect some creative British cuisine – if you can get a booking, of course.

Bocca di Lupo

Meghan fell in love with Positano and Italy's Amalfi coast a few years back, so it's not surprising that she's been seen tucking into Italian fodder here in London. She was previously spotted at Soho haunt Bocca Di Lupo, enjoying the bustling vibe and convivial atmosphere along with food and wine from across Italy's twenty regions. Think breads, sausages, salami, pickles, and handmade pasta, with gelato to finish.

Kensington Flower Corner

Markle is a massive fan of florals. All you need to do is take one look at her blog, and you'll see countless photos of very on-trend peonies, lillies, daisies – the lot. When she's in London, she buys her bunches from Kensington Flower Corner, a pop-up stall minutes away from Kensington Palace.

Portobello Road

If you take a close look at her her social media posts, you'll notice that Meghan is a huge fan of Portobello Road Market. Endless rows of antiques, collectibles, street food stalls, colourful houses – what's not to like? Funnily enough, her most-loved market in her old home Toronto is called Kensington Market and is known for its shabby chic stalls, boho vibe and quirky music. No wonder Portobello is a match made in heaven.

Fortnums

Once things got serious, the Queen invited Harry and Meghan for afternoon tea at the Palace. During the fine event, the loved up couple sipped on the Queen Mary blend, a fine mix of Darjeeling and Assam tea leaves. As well all know, the Royal Family has quite the soft spot for Fortnums, so it's only natural Meaghan will follow suit. Perhaps she'll go for the Queen Anne, or a delicate and classic Earl Grey?

Albert's at Beaufort House

When you've made it in the world of Hollywood, you're definitely no stranger to the club. Albert's at Beaufort House on the Kings Road will obviously be on the cards for the couple. Why? Simple. Harry's mates Jake Parkinson-Smith, Carello and Fraser Carruthers run it. Named after Queen Victoria's dearly beloved consort, Albert (Harry's great-great-great-great grandfather) the private member's club is one of the most exclusive nightclubs in the capital, specialising in whisky and martinis.

Soho House

It's said that the young royal couple had many of their secret first dates at various international Soho Houses after Meghan's close friend, Markus Anderson – king of Soho House and consultant to the chain worldwide – introduced her to the prince way back when. At least they will be able to continue their now not so private romance on Dean Street, or indeed, at the club's Canadian outposts.
