As Meghan Markle closes her lifestyle blog, what else will she have to give up to marry Prince Harry?

Meghan Markle is closing her lifestyle blog after three years of regular posts.

Prince Harry’s girlfriend announced the news on Friday in a short post on the site’s homepage. “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig,” she wrote. “What began as a passion project evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.”

The 35-year-old’s move is being seen as a sign that she may be about to permanently enter the royal family. Meghan has been dating Prince Harry for almost a year and is set to be introduced to the Queen in the very near future.

The actress is also reportedly making the move from her Toronto home to a brand new apartment in Kensington Palace this summer.

So what else will Meghan have to give up if she becomes Harry’s wife?

The star has played paralegal Rachel Zane in US drama Suits for the past six years. It’s unlikely the royal family will allow her to continue in such a prominent role.

According to an inside source, Meghan is already thinking of leaving the role. She is set to start filming again this month but has plans to quit to concentrate on other pursuits.

“Even before Harry, she was starting to think about transitioning out of acting. She wants to focus on other worldly endeavours she is passionate about, like her philanthropy,” the source told E! News.

Meghan wouldn’t be the first person to give up their career for a royal marriage. The Duchess of Cambridge had to leave her former job as an accessories buyer before becoming engaged to Prince William in 2010.

It’s likely Meghan would also have to leave Instagram much to the disappointment of her 1.5 million followers. No member of the royal family has a personal social media account but Meghan’s is full of inspirational quotes, selfies and images of her Canadian home.

This may not be such a problem for the actress either. Since her relationship with Harry became public last year, she has only posted a handful of times, leaving many to suggest that she is winding down her Instagram account.

It seems the only thing Meghan would be able to continue is her charity work which has so far seen her attend UN events alongside Emma Watson and visit countries including Rwanda and Afghanistan.

The trials and tribulations of being a modern day princess continue.
