Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton brought a bit of royalty to Wimbledon as they attended the Women's Singles Final together.

The spouses of Princes William and Harry came to the event together today (July 14) as they watched Angelique Kerber beat favourite Serena Williams.

This was the Duchess of Sussex and Duchess of Cambridge's first engagement together without their husbands, and they seemed pretty cosy too.

However, Meghan has another link to all things Wimbledon as she is also close friends with Serena, the latter attending her wedding to Prince Harry back in May.

While it's all been Wimbledon (and World Cup) on social media the last few days, that royal wedding was a pretty big deal only a couple of months back.

The wedding gained 5.3 million mentions on social media in the 24 hours around the ceremony, 2.2 million of them in the US.

Meanwhile, Meghan's father Thomas recently speculated during an appearance on Good Morning Britain last month about when his daughter and Prince Harry may have children.

"That's really going to be up to them," he said.

"She's wanted children for a long time and when she met Harry and spoke about how much she loves him, there's going to be a child with him soon.

"I don't think the stork has hit the air yet but it will happen soon."
