Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an appearance in Manchester this evening to attend the Opening Ceremony of the One Young World Summit 2022.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the last “world councillors” to be introduced onto the stage at the annual event which each year brings together more than two thousand of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally.
Meghan, who is a counsellor for the organisation alongside Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Brandson and Jamie Oliver, made an impact in a head-to-toe tomato red ensemble, which looks to be from the luxury Italian label Valentino.
Pairing the brand’s red tie-neck silk Georgette blouse (£1,100 and sold out online) with its 100 per cent red silk ‘Cady Couture’ straight leg trousers (£1,200, shop them here) and finishing the ensemble with a pair of red Aquazzura suede Panthere pumps (£620, shop them here), Meghan looked in equal parts sophisticated, glamorous and self-assured.
And certainly the occasion was one that required a power outfit. Today marked Meghan (and Harry’s) first public appearance in the UK since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee back in June, and the keynote speech she gave on gender equality was her first in-person address in the UK since quitting as a senior working royal amid the Megxit crisis more than two years ago.
It’s not the first time Meghan has rocked the shade – remember that Carolina Herrera dress? – but as comeback looks go, this one certainly packs a punch.
