Prince Harry opened the Invictus Games in Canada on Saturday evening (September 23) and quite literally cheering him on in the crowd was his girlfriend, Meghan Markle.

The Suits actress was spotted in the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, where the Games opening ceremony was taking place and while Harry was sitting next to US First Lady Melania Trump and near Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Meghan was watching events unfold from the stands.

The Invictus Games run for two weeks, with athletes from 17 countries competing in 12 sports over eight days.

The event was created by Prince Harry, with the first Invictus Games taking place in London in 2014.

Since then it has also taken place in Orlando, Florida in 2016 and will be hosted in Sydney, Australia in 2018.

There was speculation this year's opening ceremony would be the first time Prince Harry and his girlfriend would be seen in public together as a couple.

Alas, it may not have been their first official public appearance together as such, but at least they were in the same venue.

Meghan recently spoke about her relationship with the prince for the first time.

Speaking to Vanity Fair earlier this month, the actress revealed that she and Harry are very much in love.

"We're two people who are really happy and in love," she said.

"We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people's perception. Nothing about me changed."

Aww.
