Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Will Attend Princess Beatrice's Wedding Despite Reports That They Shaded Her

From Cosmopolitan

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will reportedly attend Princess Beatrice's wedding in May.

  • Recent reports suggested the Sussexs took a "dig" at Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in their last statement.

After one royal source claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were taking a "dig" at Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, it seems like the drama surrounding the Sussexs' latest statement hasn't impacted their invite to Beatrice's wedding.

According to Page Six, an invitation to Beatrice's May 29 wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was extended to Meghan and Harry, and they're planning on making the trip from Canada to London to be there.

That's great news! But also, there's another take on the situation floating around. Yesterday, a Daily Telegraph source stated the obvious and said "it is up to them whether or not they choose to attend" before adding, "The trouble with Harry and Meghan is that they think they are bigger than the institution. It’s such a shame things have turned out like this." Of course, that's just one person's opinion.

Though it seems like things with Harry, Meghan, and Beatrice may be on the mends, Meghan and Harry's relationship with the royal family as a whole remains strained. After Harry and Meghan called out the palace for trying to keep them from using the word "royal," palace insiders claimed the couple have "lost all sense of perspective." Another added, "But it [their exit] inevitably requires sacrifices on both sides and the Sussexes need to be rather more gracious about it. Sniping from the sidelines doesn’t help anyone.”

Well, Beatrice's wedding is just a few months away, so if there is still any tension amongst the family by then, it will be pretty evident when everyone arrives.
