Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly landed in Rome ahead of their friend Misha Nonoo’s wedding.

The Sun reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted in the Italian capital ahead of Nonoo’s nuptials, which are rumoured to take place on Friday 20th September.

According to the publication’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews, the royals’ four-month-old son, Archie Harrison, has not accompanied the pair on their European trip ahead of their official tour of South Africa, which starts on Monday.

Earlier this week, HELLO! reported that Harry and Meghan were due to attend Nonoo’s wedding to oil tycoon Michael Hess, who accompanied the fashion designer to the couple’s royal wedding in May 2018.

One of the chosen venues for the romantic occasion is Cinecitta – the famous Roman film studio where the likes of directors Roberto Gastone Zeffiro Rossellini and Federico Fellini have filmed.

The magazine states that Harry and Meghan feature on a guest list including the likes of Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.

Last week, Nonoo came out in defence of the Duke and Duchess following months of criticism.

In recent weeks, the Duchess and her husband, Prince Harry, have faced backlash after they were found to have charted private jets for several European holidays over the summer. In response to the criticism, Sir Elton John came out to support the couple, with the Duke of Sussex later stating that while his family usually fly commercial, they are required to use private jets occasionally for their safety.

In an interview on Today last Friday, Nonoo – with whom the royal collaborated for her new Smart Works capsule collection launched earlier this month - shared her opinion of the criticism her friend has faced.

‘I think it's unjust and I think that people should really focus on the good work that they do—a prime example of that is this,’ the designer said, referencing the star’s new fashion line.

‘It's her first official engagement after having had her baby and it's all about empowering women, it's all about what she has essentially always sought to do.'

The British designer, who is rumoured to have set the royal up on a date with Prince Harry, also spoke about how authentic Markle’s royal work is.

‘I think that that was something that her and I bonded over from very early days of our relationship was that she genuinely seeks to help people,’ she noted.

‘She's been amazing. She's the consummate professional. She's been extremely hands-on in the project. It's something that she's really passionate about.’

According to Nonoo, she first met Meghan around eight years ago and from the get-go spoke of their shared passion for equality, women's empowerment and their love of dogs.

According to the Palace, Meghan and Harry will both visit South Africa, then the Duke will separately visit Angola and Malawi (again, at the request of the government) and 'undertake a working visit to Botswana', alone during their trip overseas next week.
