Meghan Markle has reacted to Suits' streaming resurgence, sharing a possible theory behind the show's recent popularity.

The legal drama recently broke its own streaming record for the third time since being added to Netflix. Despite the series concluding in 2019, fans have continued to stream the courtroom hit – amassing an impressive total of 45 billion minutes watched.

When asked about the show's unexpected resurgence at Variety's Power of Women event yesterday (November 16), Markle shared her excitement. "Isn't that wild?" she said. "It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time."

Revealing that she has "no idea" why Suits has gained a renewed love in recent months, Markle did share a possible theory to explain the series' continued longevity.

"It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days," she explained. "So that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."

In her final acting role before her marriage to Prince Harry, Markle starred in seven seasons of the hit series as ambitious paralegal Rachel Zane.

The show followed college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), whose photographic memory landed him a job at a top New York law firm under hotshot attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

Following the show's recent success, Deadline announced that series creator Aaron Korsh is developing a new Suits spin-off for NBCUniversal. Deals for the project are still being negotiated, but is expected to be "fast-tracked with a serious commitment".

Korsh also addressed the surge in the show's popularity on X, formerly Twitter, writing: "I always thought we were underestimated, but it turns out, even I underestimated #Suits. It's good to be the King."

All 9 seasons of Suits are available to watch on Netflix.
