Meghan Markle wears £24.99 H&M dress and it's still available to buy

On Wednesday afternoon Meghan Markle arrived for the first of two engagements. The first was a visit to the Mayhew, an animal rescue centre in London, of which she is patron.

Later, she will be joined by Prince Harry at a performance of Cirque du Soleil in support of Sentebale.

Despite the wet weather Meghan braved spring-like neautrals. The centrepiece of the outfit, a short light beige marl dress, despite its luxe appearance, was from high street store H&M.

The MAMA Fine-Knit Dress, which retails for only £24.99, is from the brand's maternity range and is made up of a soft fine-knit, stand-up collar and gathered side seams. A good choice for a modern mama-to-be.

The design is new for this season, and it seems Meghan was one of the first to snap it up as the affordable number is still in stock in all sizes from XS-XL. It also comes in a dark grey marl for those who prefer more subdued shades.

Adding to the budget-friendly outfit, Meghan also recycled an old £1,699 cashmere coat by Emporior Armani, which was first seen on the duchess during a visit to Sussex in 2018.

However, she did finish off the tonal outfit with a few luxury accessories; namely Paul Andrew nude heels and a matching £610 cruelty-free bag by Stella McCartney.
