Meghan Markle's Mom, Doria Ragland, Has an Update on How Her Daughter is Doing

From ELLE

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's January 8 announcement that they will be backing off from their duties as "senior" members of the royal family and becoming financially independent, there have been a lot of questions from royal fans. After so much attention, it's likely that Harry and Meghan are worn down from the very spotlight they are aiming to avoid. But Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, has the real update on how her daughter is actually doing.

A source for People who occasionally talks with Ragland, told the publication that Ragland told "says Meghan is strong and will always be okay." She also added that her grandson, Archie, is "the cutest." That statement is more fact than opinion. Look at him:

Meghan has been seeing her mom a good deal lately. She and Harry spent Thanksgiving with Ragland in the U.S., and Ragland joined the couple and Archie on their Canadian holiday at Christmas.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month," their spokesperson said in December. "Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland. This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen."

Another source told Meghan that Ragland and her daughter have a tight relationship. This isn't a shock to royal followers who saw Ragland supporting her daughter in the car on her way to marry Harry in Windsor in May 2018. She is there for her daughter's biggest steps, including becoming a mom.

“She and Meghan are so close,” the source said. “Harry really gets on well with her too. Any new mom wants her own mom around at this time, so it’s great.”
