Mel B has said that she was "sad" that the Spice Girls didn't get to perform at King Charles' coronation earlier this month.

While the Spice Girls were rumuored for the event, they didn't play with the likes of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Olly Murs on the lineup.

She added: "I was pretty like, bummed out that we didn't do that. I was really wanting that to happen so I was a bit sad it didn’t, well a lot sad."

As well as the King's coronation, there have been rumours that the Spice Girls would perform at this year's Glastonbury but Scary Spice dampened the chances of that happening: "I would love to but I'm just one of five. So we've got to figure that out."

The Spice Girls famously met the then prince in 1997 ahead of a gig they did for his Prince's Trust charity. At the meeting, Mel B and Geri Halliwell both kissed Charles on the cheek. Scary Spice also told the future monarch to get his tongue pierced.

The coronation concert, held in celebration of the newly Christened King Charles and Queen Camilla, took place outside Windsor Castle and was attended by 20,000 people with the event being free to attend.

The event featured a number of performances from the likes British acts such as Take That, Paloma Faith and Olly Murs as well as international artists including Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli.

There were also cameos from Tom Cruise, The Muppets, Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan in the form of pre-recorded messages and sketches.

The concert was watched by a peak audience of 12 million people.
