The judging panel for this year's X Factor is looking like a bit of a mystery at the moment, with rumours flying around left, right and centre about who'll be behind that table.

It's been claimed that former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has been axed from the panel, with several names put forward as potential replacements for her.

One person whose name has cropped up several times is Mel B – but if she has been chosen, it seems like the Spice Girl hasn't actually been informed herself.

"It's news to me, I haven't heard that," the former Spice Girl told OK! Magazine.

But that's not to say that she wouldn't be interested if the opportunity arose, as she also added: "If they asked and I had time, it's something I'd think about."

Speculation over The X Factor judging line-up this year has been rife, but at least Louis Walsh has said that we can expect both him and Sharon Osbourne to return to the panel, calling their three-year contracts "watertight".

"I've checked it out with someone and have told Simon that," he said.

"I have spoken to Sharon. She's said they can only sack us if they pay us. Sharon did say she was surprised she hadn't been given any filming dates.

"I don't think they've finalised what they're going to do with the panel. We have three-year contracts. We both do."

It's even possible that none of the current judges might be axed but we might still get a new addition, with Simon Cowell said to be considering adding a fifth judge.

Whatever happens, we probably won't find out for a while, as Nicole recently claimed that Simon is "so f**king last-minute" when it comes to making decisions.

As for Mel B, if she does end up with the judging gig, she'll also get plenty of opportunities to enjoy a good old British roast dinner, as she tells OK! it's usually one of the first things she does when she gets the the UK.

"Within hours of landing this time, I was at my friend's house eating a Sunday roast," she explained. "She made me Yorkshire puddings, sprouts, roast potatoes – the lot! It's what I crave when I'm home in LA."
