Melania Trump thanks Chelsea Clinton for defending her son Barron
First Lady Melania Trump thanked Chelsea Clinton for defending her son Barron.
Despite their relatives having fought a bitter election against one another, the two had a cordial conversation on Twitter.
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Hillary Clinton, asked for 11-year-old Barron Trump to be left out of spats between Trump supporters and those who oppose him.
Thank you @ChelseaClinton - so important to support all of our children in being themselves! #StopChildhoodBullyinghttps://t.co/UCUpFc5ZjR

She wrote: ""It's high time the media and everyone leave Barron Trump alone and let him have the private childhood he deserves."
Ms Clinton continued: "Dear Matty-Barron is A KID. No child should be talked about in the below manner-in real life or online. And for an adult to do so? For shame".

The outrage was in response to an article in the Daily Caller which shamed Barron Trump for his clothes.
The piece was entitled: 'It's High Time Barron Trump Starts Dressing Like He's In the White House'.
It said: "The youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public."
This isn't the first time Ms Clinton has stuck up for Barron.
Last year, when the youngest Trump son was being bullied online, she wrote: "Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid."
