Melbourne Home Rocked by 5.8 Magnitude Earthquake

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Mansfield, Victoria, and was felt around 200km (124 miles) away in Melbourne, the state’s capital, on September 22.

Footage by Tom Jenkins shows a home in the Preston area of Melbourne shaking at the time of the earthquake.

Geoscience Australia, the Australian government agency that reports on significant earthquakes, said the earthquake was detected at 9:15am and was 10-kilometres deep.
