They are more comfortable to do almost anything but run in compared to anything, even sneakers. Best of all, they have lots of ventilation and are built more like a sneaker disguised as a docksider. I have two pairs, one is over a year old and has held up reasonably well, although the inside seems to be wearing out much faster than the outside like many New Balance products. My only complaint about the new pair is that they put an ovular orange logo on the back of the heel, which looks somewhat unprofessional. Still, not enough to subtract a star.
