Men offered to bless jewellery before stealing 'significant amount' of gold from Leicester home

A "significant amount of gold jewellery" has been stolen from a house in Leicester. The incident happened when "men" visited the address, in Coleman Road, Evington, offering to bless the jewellery, Leicestershire Police said.

In an appeal issued today (Thursday, November 28), officers for the East Leicester policing area published a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with the theft. They said: "Do you recognise this man?

"Police would like to speak to him following the theft of a significant amount of gold jewellery in Evington. Between 11am and 12.30pm on 18 October, men went to an address in Coleman Road and offered to bless the occupant’s jewellery.

"They took the items from the address but failed to return them. It is believed the person pictured may have information about the incident."
