Merseyside to bask in warm weather for the rest of the week
Merseyside is set to enjoy warm and sunny weather for the rest of the week. The region has enjoyed a warmer than average week for the time of year, as people up and down Merseyside have basked in the sun and enjoyed clear sunsets.
Much to people's delight, the sunny weather is expected to remain for the rest of the week as people enjoy a late stint of warm temperatures, with the average temperature for September last year being 15.2C. The Met Office has forecast highs of 21C for the remainder of the week, with Thursday expected to be the warmest and clearest day of the lot.
Forecasters believe temperatures will only drop to 14C overnight going into Thursday and reach 21C come the afternoon. Writing on the national weather service's website, forecasters said: "Any low cloud, mist and fog patches will soon lift and clear, allowing plenty of warm sunny spells to develop across the area into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

The remainder of the week will see sunny spells but more cloud will fill the skies from Friday to Sunday with temperatures still reaching 20C each of the three days. Forecasters continued: "A rather cloudy end to the week with the best of the sunshine in the west. Occasional showers developing in the south over the weekend, perhaps heavy at times."
People should make the most of the warm weather before the end of the week with it expected to turn overcast heading into the new week. The longer term forecast for the country makes for grim reading as the country welcomes autumn and winter.
The Met Office said on its website for Monday, September 23 to October 3: "Showers with the potential for some longer spells of rain, heavy and perhaps thundery at times, will affect parts of England and Wales at first, especially in the south but tending to ease away to the southeast by the end of Tuesday. Elsewhere, generally settled conditions prevailing, albeit with low cloud and drizzle along North Sea coasts in particular; away from here, most places will experience above average temperatures during this period.
"A short-lived quieter spell of weather is possible, before a transition to a more unsettled, mobile westerly pattern is most likely by midweek and beyond, with spells of wind and rain in many areas, but perhaps interspersed with occasional drier and brighter interludes."
