Donald Trump might be trying to silence the media by blocking them from the White House and calling them 'FAKE NEWS!', but one person he will never silence is Meryl Streep.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that following her impassioned speech at the Golden Globes, Streep will be presenting at this year's Oscars ceremony on Sunday (February 26).

Streep was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes, and upon accepting the award slammed the new president: "disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose."

The actress also called out Trump for his campaign speech in which he mocked disabled New York Times reporter Serge Kovaleski.

"There was nothing good about it, but it did its job," she insisted. "It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can't get it out my head because it wasn't in a movie, it was in real life.

"That instinct to humiliate when it's modelled by someone in a public platform, it filters down into everyone's life because it gives permission for others to do the same."

It was an inspiring speech (even if Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn weren't impressed) and we can't wait to see what she has in store next.
