The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms this morning. A weather warning was in place for parts of the UK on Friday, September 20.

The yellow thunderstorm warning runs from 1am today (September 21) until 11.59pm. Met Office experts have said: "Whilst some places will remain dry, thunderstorms and heavy showers could cause some disruption on Saturday in a few places."

The Met Office has said that where flooding or lightning strikes occur during thunderstorms, there is the possibility of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services. There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost, says the forecaster.
