Met Office hour by hour Liverpool forecast amid thunderstorm warning
A thunderstorm warning is in place for Merseyside and much of the rest of the UK until 11.59pm today (Monday). Weather experts have said there could be some flooding, with potential delays and cancellations to public transport, as well as a "slight chance of power cuts" and difficult driving conditions.
A Met Office alert adds: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds". However, experts have also said many places will miss the thunderstorms.
The Met Office outlook for the north west on Monday, September 2, predicts "bands of rain and showers, turning heavy and thundery at times". It adds: "Some localised flooding and poor travelling conditions possible. Best of any drier and brighter weather likely early on, and again towards evening. Maximum temperature 19C".
Tuesday, September 3, is then likely to begin with a few showers before "spells of sunshine will develop", though a "further scattering of showers will move from the west later". It should also "feel fresher" than today, before Wednesday looks to be "largely dry and bright".
