Met Office issues 17 hour Kent weather warning for ice as temperatures plummet
A weather warning for ice in Kent has been issued by the Met Office. The yellow alert comes into place at 5pm today (Tuesday) and lasts until 10am tomorrow and is in place for large parts of the county.
Areas include Canterbury, Ashford, Maidstone, Chatham, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Minster and Faversham.
The ice warning aims to alert people to the risks of the weather. The Met Office said there could be icy patches on some ungritted roads, pavements and cycle paths. It also warned about injuries from slipping or falling on areas covered in ice.

The Met Office says: "Rain, sleet and snow will continue to clear southwards across England and Wales with clearing skies to follow. Temperatures are expected to fall below or close to freezing quite widely across the warning area with icy patches forming on untreated freezing surfaces."
Tomorrow in Kent will feel cold but with sunshine, and it is expected to stay dry, but the Isle of Thanet could see some showers. It might be breezy and there could be overnight frosts, with maximum temperatures of 4C.
