Met Office issues 22-hour snow and ice warning for Cambridgeshire

The Met Office has issued a 22-hour snow and ice warning for Cambridgeshire. The warning is in place from 12pm on Thursday (November 21) until 10am on Friday (November 22).

It follows after a cold snap which has seen temperatures plummet across the country. The yellow weather warning covers part of the north of the county.

It said: "Wintry showers and icy patches are expected this evening and overnight, perhaps leading to some travel disruption. Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

"Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces."

A six-day cold weather alert was put in place by the UK Health Security Agency on Monday (November 18 and is in effect until 6pm on Saturday. "Forecast weather is likely to cause significant impacts across health and social care services," the alert said.
