Met Office issues another weather warning for Merseyside
Strong winds are set to hit Merseyside today as another weather warning is in place. Storm Éowyn caused travel chaos across Merseyside as a double yellow and amber weather warning for wind was issued for parts of the region on Friday.
A number of flights were cancelled from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and no ferries were scheduled to run on the Mersey for the whole of Friday. Following the disruption brought by the storm, a further yellow weather warning is in place today, Sunday, January 26, and will be in place from 8am until 5pm.
The Met Office said strong winds are likely to cause some disruption on Sunday. There is set to be some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.

Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will likely be affected by spray and/or large waves and some short term loss of power and other services is possible. The Met Office said there will probably be some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer. Rain is likely at around 12pm through to 9pm. Temperatures will reach highs of 7C.
A spokesperson for the weather agency said: "Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Sunny spells on Saturday, with showers, perhaps wintry spreading eastwards later. After a dry start, turning windy with rain and hill snow arriving on Sunday. Unsettled and showery on Monday."
