Met Office map shows where snow could fall TODAY as UK braced for chilly weather
After a mild start to December, Brits have been warned to expect chilly conditions to come. The Met Office has warned that cold weather will return this week - including a chance of snow for some in the UK.
Many parts of the country saw temperatures well into double figures over the weekend. But temperatures plummeted on Monday (December 2) and the cooler outlook is expected to continue.
According to the latest Met Office weather maps, areas of higher ground in northern Scotland could see snow later on Tuesday. A band of rain will hit the west of Scotland at around 11am, turning wintry in some areas before reaching the east.

Snow is expected to fall across northern Scotland this afternoon and evening. Met Office maps show the snowfall coming to an end by late on Tuesday night.
In its latest forecast, the Met Office says: "Tuesday will be dry, bright and cold across England and Wales. A dry and cold start further north too, but rain will arrive into Northern Ireland and northern Scotland around lunchtime, turning to snow across the hills in Scotland.
"Rain will move into northern England for a time this evening, before fading away. Largely dry elsewhere with just a few showers in the north and west. Cold and frosty."
