Storm Bert is set to hit the UK as the Met Office forecast shows heavy rain and strong winds for Cambridgeshire on Saturday (November 23). The storm is expected to bring heavy rain throughout the weekend in southern parts of the UK.

Jason Kelly, Met Office Chief Meteorologist, said: "Storm Bert starts to arrive overnight on Friday and into Saturday, initially over Northern Ireland. As we go through the first part of Saturday morning, it will start to show its hand across Scotland, north Wales and northern England, with the potential for some heavy snowfall, especially over higher ground."

Mr Kelly said southern parts of the UK could see as much as 50-75mm of rain over the weekend, accompanied by strong southerly winds. The Environment Agency has advised people to sign up for flood warnings and check flood risk before travelling.
