Parts of the region are set to be hit with heavy downpours today as the Met Office forecasts rain throughout the day. Grey skies and showers can be expected for most of Saturday (July 6) but some sunshine is predicted by the early evening.

The Met Office says Bristol will be worst hit by heavy rain this morning between 7am and 10am. This will start to ease in the late morning but the rain is predicted to return at 2pm.

However, the weather forecasters expect there will be some sunshine from 6pm onwards. Despite a largely wet and cloudy day, there are set to be temperatures as high as 16°C, with lows of 12°C at some parts of the morning and later on this evening.
