Met Police dispel Kilburn rumours over body discovery after van spotted in street
The Metropolitan Police have dismissed rumours that a body was found in North London today, as forensic vans were spotted in the street. This morning (Wednesday, November 13), the X account @LifeInKilburn shared a post saying that a body had been found at the garages by Kilburn station.
The post said: "Forensic teams and Police at the garages by Kilburn Station. Apparently a body was found while carrying out work."
An accompanying photo showed a police van parked on Christchurch Street outside the gates to the garages, which sit underneath the railway bridge next to the station. One person then commented on the post, saying: "How sad. I was wondering about the high police presence yesterday."

However, when MyLondon contacted the Metropolitan Police, they dismissed this as a rumour. A spokesperson for the police force said: "We are aware of speculation online about a body being found at a premises in Kilburn.
"This is not true. Police carried out a search warrant at a premises on Christchurch Avenue in relation to an on-going investigation. There were no arrests, enquiries are on-going."
This comes after the police shared the name of a man killed in a car crash in nearby Edmonton at the end of October. Dickson Achiu, a 28-year-old pedestrian, died after a collision with a car on the A406 near Meridian Way in Edmonton just after 4:30am on October 27.
While no arrests were made, the Metropolitan Police are now appealing for any witnesses.
