Met officer arrested under suspicion of being a member of a right-wing terror group
A Metropolitan Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of being a member of a banned group linked to right-wing terrorism.
The 21-year-old police constable, who works in Frontline Policing for the Met, was arrested at an address in north London which is currently being searched.
Officers from the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) have been informed and the officer’s status is under review.
The Met said the case has been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct and added there is “nothing to suggest there is any threat to wider public safety”.
