Metro services resume after suspension between Tynemouth and North Shields
Metro services have resumed after a suspension between two stations in North Tyneside this afternoon.
Nexus posted on the official Metro X (formerly Twitter) page that services were suspended between Tynemouth and North Shields in both directions shortly after 2pm.
The suspension was in place as Tynemouth's popular weekend market, which is in the station, took place.

ChronicleLive understands that the suspension was due to a brake release fault on one of the older trains. Service resumed shortly before 3pm.
Ticket acceptance is in place on the Go North East 1 and 317 services until 3.30pm.
