Metrobus to expand Christmas bus services into new parts of Surrey

One of the country's leading bus companies will be travelling to Surrey areas during Christmas for the first time. Metrobus have announced their Christmas and New Year schedule.

This year, route 200 ( from Horsham - Gatwick Airport ) and route 400 ( Caterham - East Grinstead, via Horley, Redhill and Godstone) will operate on Christmas Day (December 25) making it easier to visit friends and family.

These journeys will also run on Boxing Day (December 26) as well as route 100 from Maidenbower to Redhill, taking in East Surrey Hospital and Horley. Normal fares are charged on Christmas Day and usual passes are accepted.

On Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 Metrobus will operate a Monday to Friday holiday service. The last journey on route 20 (Pease Pottage - Horley) will be at 23:56 from Pease Pottage Services and 00:33 from Horley, Orchard Drive.

Last journeys on route 100 will be at 00:15 from Redhill Bus Station (to Gatwick South) and 00:12 from Maidenbower (to Crawley Bus Station only). On route 200 this will be at 23:12 from Gatwick North and 00:09 from Horsham Bus Station.

On Wednesday, December 25 a special service will run on routes 10, 200 and 400 on a semi-regular timetable, with more services running on Boxing Day.

On Friday, December 27– there will be a Saturday service on all routes with some inspections. These include route 21 (Crawley - Epsom) and 318 (Epsom - Banstead) where a weekday school holiday service will be operational

First journeys on route 20 will be 02:15 from Horley, Orchard Drive and 02:18 from Pease Pottage Services.

The weekend of December 28 and 29 will have a normal service, while Monday, December 30 and Tuesday, December 31 there will also be a Saturday service with similar exemptions to before.

From there things start to go back to normal. On Wednesday, January 1, buses will be running on a Sunday Service while on Thursday, January 2, a normal Monday to Friday (school holiday) service resumes
