Metropolitan Police officer charged with rape

A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with rape and will appear in court on Friday.

PC Ireland Murdock, who is from the Central North Command Unity, was arrested on January 11, 2022 and details have just been released by the force.

The offence was reported to have taken place on September 24, 2021 in Lambeth while the officer was off duty.

The Met Police said PC Murdock has been suspended. He will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court later today.
