Michael Buble wouldn’t do Strictly in case he fell for ballroom partner

It doesn’t sound like Canadian crooner Michael Buble is going to be donning the sequins for a stint on Strictly Come Dancing anytime soon.

The married 41-year-old says he’d never sign up to the show - just in case the Curse of Strictly strikes and he ends up between the sheets with his professional dance partner.

Er, ever heard of self-control Michael?

“I would be too afraid that I would fall in love with the professional I was dancing with,” he told the Daily Star. “I honestly do not know how everyone is not having sex with everyone else in the show.

“Am I crazy? It is a scary thing and there is such intimacy as you are learning together and already falling in love.”

The Strictly curse has given the tabloids plenty to talk about over the years, with countless celebrities hooking up with ballroom stars after the urge to tear each others clothes off in the rehearsal studio became too much to bear.

Previous contestants who ended up dating their partners include Georgia May Foote, Rachel Riley, Ben Cohen and Joe Calzaghe.

Dancer Flavia Cacace surely holds the record, though – she ditched pro dancer Vincent Simone for EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo – and then dumped him for actor Jimi Mistry who she later married. Phew.

Michael Buble has been married to actress and model Luisana Lopilato since 2011, and the pair have two sons together, Noah, 3, and ten-month old Elias.

Whether Luisana is open to a stint on the BBC show isn’t clear.
