Michael Duff handed Huddersfield Town injury boost for Bolton test
Huddersfield Town head coach Michael Duff has confirmed that Bojan Radulovic is “in contention” to be involved from the bench against Bolton Wanderers this weekend after missing the start of the season.
The 24-year-old has been unavailable to feature in the opening seven matches of the campaign owing to a groin injury that the striker sustained at the back end of pre-season. However, the forward has returned to training this week, and Duff said that the January recruit could play some part in Saturday's clash should he be required.
“Bojan’s been back with us now for two or three days, so he’ll be in contention,” Town’s head coach said at this afternoon's press conference. “He won’t be in contention to start, but he should definitely be able to play 20 or 30 minutes if needed, so that’s a positive.”
Duff added that injured trio Brodie Spencer, Herbie Kane and David Kasumu are making progress in their respective comebacks.
“There’s quite a few of them getting closer,” the Terriers’ boss said. “Brodie’s half training with us now, obviously it’s a shoulder injury so his contact’s been limited, but he’s joining in. Herbie Kane is getting closer, David Kasumu’s not far away now. The two-week break, the one thing it has done, it’s got us a lot closer to having a full squad to pick from.”
However, Rhys Healey remains sidelined with a hamstring problem, while Chris Maxwell is also not expected to be available for this weekend. Danny Ward is ruled out through suspension following his red card at Rotherham United.
“Rhys is a funny one, so Rhys felt his hamstring in the warm-up at Rotherham, and currently he’s under investigation, in terms of we think it’s nerve related,” Duff said. “We think it’s something to do with an old ACL graft, which has affected a nerve, so it’s hard to put a timeline on that one, because has he pulled anything, or is it a nerve pain, or where’s it coming from?
“Obviously Wardy’s suspended, Rads (Radinio Balker) is obviously a long way away. Maxy’s had a bit of a heart problem, we think it’s just a viral infection, so he’s been on rest for a couple of days. We don’t think it’s anything serious, but it’s something we’re not taking a risk with, so again we’ll have to monitor that one.”
