Michael Dunlop has been reflecting on his record-breaking Isle of Man TT as he reminded fans of the magnitude of his team's achievements. The Ballymoney man claimed a four-timer at this year's event to become the most successful rider in TT history.

Dunlop eclipsed the longstanding record of his legendary uncle Joey Dunlop (26 wins) to extend his own tally to 29 on the Mountain Course. It could have been 30, only for an unfortunate visor issue in the first Superbike race.

The 35-year-old claimed four wins against high-quality opposition in 2024, with many of his rivals riding factory machinery. And Dunlop expressed his pride at being able to compete against - and beat - stellar opposition and bikes.

Dunlop dominated the Supertwin and Supersport classes to receive the overall winner trophies - the TT Supporters Club Trophy for overall Supersport winner and the Gavin Lee Trophy for overall supertwin winner.

He also secured him the Joe Craig Trophy for fastest Supertwin lap and the Formula II Cup for fastest Supersport lap. Dunlop also set a new lap record of 135.970mph making him the recipient of this year’s John Williams Trophy for the fastest Superbike lap.

There were more awards and recognition, with Dunlop also awarded this year’s Martin Finnegan Trophy which is awarded to the overall fastest Irish rider. His team's achievements were also recognised as they were named 2024 Solo Team Championship winners. This award recognises the best overall team performance across the solo classes based on championship points.

Speaking on his Instagram account, Dunlop said: "I Just would like to say thank you to all my sponsors and supporters after TT 2024 l became most successful TT rider of all time something I have worked hard at as well as my team. From the event I had the fastest lap of the whole event with a new lap record within the race itself, and for me most importantly my team once again became TT team of the year.

"A team with zero factory help, zero parts help and all bikes and gear built within our own workshop something am personally proud of and so are the lads that work hard at the race events to keep everything singing.

"They deserve as much credit as I do.

"Thanks to all. History, 29 TT wins."
