Michael Fassbender and James Norton are currently favourites to be the next James Bond.

The actors are now both 5/2 to replace Daniel Craig as 007 after a flurry of bets were placed this week, according to Coral.

“Out of nowhere we’ve been hit with a surge of bets for Norton to be the next Bond,” said Coral spokesman David Stevens.

“Even after slashing the odds to 5/2 we are still seeing money for the actor, leaving us both shaken and stirred.”

William Hill also has Fassbender at 5/2, slightly ahead of Norton who is at 4/1.

Other big names still in the running include Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Aidan Turner, Tom Hiddleston and Ryan Gosling.

Craig is technically still Bond and is yet to officially confirm whether or not he’ll be stepping down from the role.

The British actor is now officially the second-longest serving Bond, having played the role for 11-and-a-half years.

Having starred in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre, Craig has now surpassed Pierce Brosnan.

Roger Moore is still the longest-serving Bong, having played the character in seven films and for 5118 days.
