Michael Fassbender Is Steve Jobs In New Trailer

The first trailer has been released for Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs biopic which gives films fans a glimpse of Michael Fassbender in the starring role.

It has taken a while for the film to get off the ground after Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale were both linked to the film but pulled out.

British director Boyle and Universal took over when Sony Pictures dropped the film because of concerns about casting for the role.

The film, titled Steve Jobs, is based on Walter Isaacson's biography about the Apple co-founder.

The screenplay has been written by Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin.

Steve Jobs also stars Seth Rogen as the other Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley and Kate Winslet as former Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman.

The teaser does not give away much of the film's plot but does give viewers a hint of how Fassbender will play the confident technology pioneer.

A press release from Universal said: "Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, STEVE JOBS takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter."

Jobs died in 2011 aged 56 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost a decade earlier.

Ashton Kutcher played Jobs in a 2013 film called Jobs which did not do well with the critics.
