The search across Greece for missing Michael Mosley has entered its fourth day, in what rescuers describe as a 'race against time'.

The 67-year-old TV doctor was reported missing on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday afternoon (June 5), after he went on a walk on Saint Nikolas beach with his wife, Dr Clare Bailey. CCTV images show Mosley wearing a dark T-shirt and a cap, shaded by an umbrella in the town of Pedi at 2pm - around half an hour after he left the beach.

But more recent camera footage seen by rescuers from a house at the edge of Pedi Dr Mosley entering a mountainous path heading inland. The Mirror reports that one of the rescuers said Mr Mosley's decision was 'inexplicable' - citing how it would have taken a fit, young person three hours to walk the route. They added: "He could be anywhere, it is a race against time."

The island's mayor, Papakalodukas Lefterios also told the publication that search ad rescue teams are currently focusing on a 2km stretch between Pedi and Gialos after water searches came to a halt. He said: "They have not yet found anything - it is a mystery this disappearance."

He added: "I very much doubt there is a criminal aspect in this case. At least as far the local community is concerned. I very much doubt that any of the inhabitants of the island has acted in that way." Lefterios' daughter Mika added that 'a lot of' islanders are also helping with the search, using their own boats over the past two days.
