This Morning stars have sent heartwarming messages as they react to the "upsetting" news that co-star and friend Dr Michael Mosley remains missing.

Host Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond returned to our TV screens for Friday’s episode of the ITV hit daytime show and the pair were joined by guest Vanessa Fektz and Nick Ferrari.

Health expert Dr Mosley, who regularly appears on This Morning, was reported missing on Wednesday while on holiday with his wife in Greece. Firefighters, police search units, dog teams, helicopters, and drones were all deployed across the island in hopes of locating Dr Mosley.

Today, Greek police have assured "more men will be coming" to help in the search effort, which has already seen emergency service members and resources from neighbouring islands in the Aegean Sea arrive to help. Speaking on the show Dermot said it was "very worrying and quite baffling" that the TV doctor had vanished while on holiday in Greece.

A heartbroken Vanessa said: “This is so upsetting and we've all interviewed him so many times, met him so many times, and I would say that he is like the embodiment of vitality. He is a man of irrepressible energy, enthusiasm and his enthusiasm is for everyone to feel the same, to be your absolute healthiest, fittest, enjoy life to the fullest, and he's the most wonderful person. He walks into the studio and the whole place lit up every single time."

She added: "I couldn't love or admire the guy more. Lots of energy, tremendous energy. So, I'm just praying that somehow they find him and he's somehow okay." Dermot continued: "It seems baffling isn't it." Nick Ferrari jumped in and said: "Sniffer dogs should be arriving there within an hour - an hour-and-a-half."

Dermot O'Leary finished the segment with a powerful statement and said: "We can only hope and pray and send our love to his loved ones that he's found and things aren't too bad."
