Michael Sheen will soon make his TV directing debut with his upcoming BBC show The Way, which has just recruited actors from It's a Sin and House of the Dragon to join its cast.

The Way, which was created by Sheen alongside Adam Curtis and Quiz writer James Graham, is a three-part drama that tells the tale of the Driscoll family as they face the prospect of having to leave the country they've called home during civil unrest.

Callum Scott Howells, who played Colin in It's a Sin, will take on a lead role as a member of the Driscoll family alongside House of the Dragonactor Steffan Rhodri.

Rhodri played Hobert Hightower in House of the Dragon and starred as Reg Cattermole in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1.

The other members of the family will be played by Mali Harries (Keeping Faith), Sophie Melville (The Pact), and Sheen himself. Sheen will also direct. Meanwhile, The Hobbit and Beauty and the Beast star Luke Evans will play a mercenary in pursuit of the family.

In a statement, Sheen said: "I feel very lucky to get to work every day with these phenomenal actors. We’ve always had so much acting talent here in Wales and I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to tell this extraordinary story with the very best at work today.
