Yahoo News Michelle Keegan explains Mark Wright cameo in Jade Goody documentary
Jade Goody documentary The Reality Star Who Changed Britain has proven to be shocking and even horrifying viewing over its three-part airing, but many viewers last night (August 21) were left scratching their heads when they spotted Mark Wright in old footage.
The former TOWIE star was seen in a clip from Jade's wedding to boyfriend Jack Tweed on February 22, 2009, just a month before Jade passed away at the age of 27.
But if you were wondering just why Mark made a brief cameo in the series, his wife and Our Girl star Michelle Keegan has now offered an explanation, clarifying that Mark and Jack have been friends for years after growing up together in Essex.
"He's friends with Jack, he was friends with Jack for a long time before we got together," Michelle told Heart.co.uk.
"They still speak now, Jack still comes to family parties, he's really nice, he's a really lovely guy."
In fact, Mark actually served as Jack's best man at the wedding, and he was seen in the documentary helping out with Jade's sons during the ceremony. He could also be seen getting visibly upset at the reception as he watched Jade and Jack dance.
And while Michelle added that they hadn't see the documentary yet, she said that she and Mark will be catching up with it.
"I know Mark was close to Jade and Jack so yeah we will," she said.
The Reality Star Who Changed Britain reflected on the life and influence of Big Brother star Jade, who redefined what it meant to be a reality star, both in positive and negative ways.
In previous weeks, the show has looked at Jade's ability to turn her success on Big Brother into a successful brand and later her image crumbling in the fallout of the Celebrity Big Brother race row.
