Michelle Keegan has said that her mother is keen for her to start a family with husband Mark Wright - but the actress has “no plans” to have children “yet.”

During filming for Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, Keegan, 32, said that she is “always” asked about whether she and Wright, 32, are ready for a baby.

Responding to a question about having children, Keegan replied: “Not yet.

“Everyone always asks that question. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not getting any younger. My mum is on it as well. No plans yet, but we definitely do want children in the future.”

The Our Girl star, who married Wright in 2015, admitted that things were “really tough” for the couple when the presenter moved to Los Angeles to work on US TV show Extra.

“He got the job in LA while I was in Malaysia [filming Our Girl],” she told Ross. “We were apart for about four months. It was really tough.

“People said how did you deal with it and stuff. Thank god for FaceTime and things like that.

“You’re on a countdown the whole time to just get home. I had six months off when I went home, so I went to America.”

Keegan also joked that the couple had to adjust to living together again after Wright quit his role on Extra and returned to the UK, admitting that she gets annoyed when her husband “leave[s] his underpants on the floor.”

“You get so used to living on your own and doing your own thing,” she said.

“Little things… you like your house a certain way and he’d come in and he’d leave his underpants on the floor. I’m not a cleaner, I’m not going to move them, they’ll be there for five days and I don’t care, I’m not moving them.”

Keegan was joined on the show by Sean Bean, comedian Rose Matafeo and Liam Gallagher, who revealed that he is considering dance lessons ahead of his wedding to Debbie Gwyther.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday September 21 at 10.30pm on ITV.
