Michelle Obama announces book tour date at the O2: How to get tickets for Becoming in conversation
Fans wishes have been granted, after Michelle Obama announced a headline show at the O2 for 2019.
The former First Lady of the United States will host an evening of conversation at the venue on April 14, days after fans called for a stadium date to satisfy demand for tickets.
Becoming: An intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama will see the writer speak about her book Becoming and her career in philanthropy and politics. She will also appear in the US and Europe for a host of dates as part of the tour.
Obama recently entertained fans in the UK with a tour for Becoming earlier this month, speaking about overcoming racism and embracing sisterhood in front of a sold-out crowd at London’s Southbank Centre.
Obama was interviewed by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie at the event and spoke about topics as diverse as the advice she’d give to young women, meeting the Queen and having ‘imposter syndrome’.
Demand for the talk was incredibly high, with 60,000 people attempting to buy tickets.
As well as giving a talk at the Southbank centre, Obama also returned to a north London school she visited nine years ago on her first visit to the UK as First Lady.
