Michelle Rodriguez Leaving ‘Fast & Furious’?

“Fast & Furious” star Michelle Rodriguez has some requests for the people behind the franchise.

On her Instagram account, the actress posted a collage of photos to commemorate the official digital release of “Fast & Furious 8” or “The Fate of the Furious.” In her caption, Rodriguez said she hopes that the female characters in the series will be shown more love in the future because otherwise, she would say goodbye to the franchise.

According to Deadline, the “Fast and the Furious” series was originally centered on Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker. But over the years, several male actors joined the cast of the film, and this includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kurt Russell, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Jason Statham. However, the eighth installment finally introduced two new female characters played by Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren.

“Fast & Furious” began in 2001. “The Fate of the Furious” was released in the United States in April. It earned a total of $1.24 billion at the global box office. Two more films have already been confirmed for 2019 and 2021, and Rodriguez is expected to reprise her role as Letty.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez came out as bisexual in 2013. While speaking with Latina magazine, the actress explained why it is only now that she’s coming out to the public. “I’m getting older. Eventually it’s going to wrinkle up and I’m not going to be able to use it. I wanted to be honest about who I am and see what happens,” she said.

In the same year, Rodriguez finally addressed the rumors that she’s gay, which has been plaguing her ever since she was linked to Kristianna Loken in 2006. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she said, “I’ve gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too [expletive] curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.”

Rodriguez briefly dated supermodel Cara Delevingne. In 2015, she was asked to comment on Delevingne’s relationship musician St. Vincent, and she simply cheered them on. While speaking with E! News, Rodriguez also gushed over Delevingne’s decision to come out in the July 2015 issue of Vogue. “Oh that’s so sexy! You go, girl!” she said.
