Michigan Basketball Players Free Team Bus Stuck in Snow

Michigan college athletes worked together to push their team bus out of a snowbank on Thursday, January 19, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of snow accumulations over a foot and snowfall rates of an inch per hour.

Video posted by the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Lakers shows the team effort to get the bus moving again in Marquette on Thursday. The women’s basketball team was scheduled to face off against Northern Michigan University (NMU) later in the evening.

“Yes…we did push that bus,” the basketball team wrote on Twitter.

Marquette was under a winter weather advisory as the NWS warned of accumulations ranging from four to 13 inches, with the heaviest likely to occur “in the Huron Mountains and in the higher terrain southwest, west and northwest of Marquette,” the NWS said. Credit: GVSU Lakers via Storyful
