Michigan Police Hold Unarmed Youths at Gunpoint

Police in Grand Rapids, Michigan, released bodycam footage showing a group of youths being held at gunpoint by an officer.

In footage recorded on March 24, several teenagers were told to “get on the ground, keep your hands out,” and they obliged. The video shows the arms of an officer pointing a gun at five teenagers.

The officers were on the scene following reports of teenagers fighting with a gun involved, but later found that was not the case.

Police spokesperson said it was an “unfortunate” incident but that the officers “followed protocol and displayed professionalism,” according to ABC. Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss plans to review the corresponding protocol following the incident, MLive reported.
