Middlesbrough drug dealers behind bars after search uncovers 257 wraps of crack cocaine and £1k cash
Two men have been jailed for their involvement in dealing class A drugs in Middlesbrough.
36-year-old Dean Toole and 38-year-old Carl Readshaw were sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on Friday, November 8. Toole, from Keith Road, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, received 40 months in prison and Readshaw received 27 months imprisonment.
Middlesbrough Proactive Team officers spotted Toole, on York Road, Grove Hill, on Thursday, September 13, who made off from officers. He was seen to throw something onto the footpath which turned out to be 60 wraps of crack cocaine.

Upon being searched, Toole was also found in possession of £1,110 in cash in a bag he was wearing around his waist. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property.
A subsequent search of a property on Keith Road was about to be carried out when officers spotted Carl Readshaw leaving the address, who was found in possession of 197 wraps of crack cocaine. Readshaw, from Brough Court, Middlesbrough, was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A. He was also in possession of a small amount of suspected cannabis.
The drugs in total are believed to have been worth around £5,140, plus cash recovered of around £1,110. Middlesbrough Proactive Team Sergeant John Sproson said: “We are dedicated to tackling drug dealing in the Middlesbrough area and dealing with those who cause misery amongst our communities.
“Let this outcome stand as a warning to those who supply and distribute drugs in Cleveland, we won’t tolerate this and we are proactively removing drugs from the town’s streets.”
