All the Midlands postcodes that will receive £25 DWP Cold Weather Payments

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will be issuing a special payment to households across England and Wales due to the chilly weather. Cold Weather Payments have been triggered in more than 500 postcode areas.

The automatic payments are handed out to certain people if the average temperature in the areas where they live is recorded as, or forecast to be, 0C or below over seven consecutive days. Due to the cold weather last week, criteria for issuing the payments has been met.

Many parts of England and Wales are impacted - including the West Midlands, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. It is understood that the £25 payment will be made to about 950,000 households.

You could be eligible for Cold Weather Payments if you receive Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit, Support for Mortgage Interest, Mirror reports.

Gov.uk says: "You’ll get £25 for each seven day period of very cold weather between November 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025."
