The parts of the West Midlands which suffer most with antisocial behaviour have been named. Whether it's youths shouting in the street being a nuisance, causing trouble outside shops or inconsiderate drivers revving their engines late at night, police were called to thousands of incidents last year by fed-up residents and business owners.

While some cases of antisocial behaviour can be minor, others can have a serious impact on communities, and can make lives a misery for residents denied peace in their own homes. Analysis of police crime figures has shown the areas where most antisocial behaviour happens.

Birmingham and the Black Country is split up into different policing areas. Birmingham's ASB hotspot is Small Heath and Highgate. A total of 473 offences were recorded in the 12 months to November 2024 in this area, more than one every day on average.

Over in the Black Country, locals in West Bromwich have to put up with the most antisocial behaviour. A huge 682 offences were recorded by West Midlands Police last year.

It was followed on the list by Willenhall, St Matthew's in Walsall, and Smethwick. Black Country policing areas tend to be larger so should not be directly compared with those in Birmingham. The list of the worst-hot areas is below.

Antisocial behaviour covers a wide range of offences. It's most commonly associated with rowdy or intimidating behaviour. This can be youths shouting in the street or hanging around late in the night in residential areas as locals are trying to sleep.

Revving of car engines, sounding of horns and gatherings involving cars can also be classed as ASB. But it can also include more sinister behaviour such as harassment or intimidation as well as vandalism or damage to properties.
