Mido joy as Tottenham fans serenade cult hero on the Tube after Chelsea win

You can take Mido out of Tottenham, but you can't take him out of Tottenham fans' hearts, it seems.

Spurs supporters had plenty to celebrate on Saturday night after watching Mauricio Pochettino's side put London rivals Chelsea to the sword with a superb 3-1 Premier League victory at Wembley - a result which also ended Maurizio Sarri's unbeaten start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane put them two up inside 16 minutes, and Heung-min Son made it three after the break with a brilliant solo goal before Olivier Giroud's late consolation goal.

After after spotting former Tottenham striker Mido on the Tube, a number of Spurs fans did what any good Spurs fan would do upon meeting a cult hero on public transport - serenade him with a good old-fashioned sing-song.

In truth, there aren't that many words to the song - mainly being comprised of the words "Mido, Mido, Mido, Mido...", but the 35-year-old was clearly happy with the reception, tweeting: "Spurs fans at the tube after the game @SpursOfficial hahahahaha".

The ex-Egypt international signed for Spurs on an 18-month loan deal in January 2005, and signed permanently for the north London club after hitting 11 goals in the 2005-06 Premier League season.

Mido spent just one more full season with Spurs before joining Middlesbrough in 2007, but the former striker is still considered a firm favourite among the club's fans - as shown by the response he got on Saturday.
